Poor Roxy. She's had a hard life yet she is the happiest little dog. If she has a lap to sit in and face to kiss she is in heaven. She is VERY friendly. She is wonderful with children 10 and over and probably would be just fine with younger. She gets along with all other pets and just loves attention.
Roxy is 6 years old. When she was 4 years old we rescued her from a breeder. She had spent her 4 years in a cage. She then was adopted. The people who adopted her said she sat in a corner for 2 years and never warmed up to them. We find that incredibly hard to believe. Roxy is the first to greet anyone and everyone who comes in!! You literally have to move her from your lap to get up! She is so warm and affectionate.
The owners returned her to us a couple of weeks ago. We were giving her a booster shot when we discovered a large mat of dried blood buried in her extremely long hair. We had her shaved and found a deep groove in her neck from a wound that had begun to heal. We took her to the vet and he stitched her up. He said her collar had become embedded in her neck and was more than likely removed and allowed to heal over before being returned to BARC.
You can tell she feels better now. She is super cute shaved and just bounces around playing with everyone.
We love Roxy and we want her to finally find a home where she will be loved & babied.
