Donatello came to us with his sister when he was just a young kitten. James, who'd been with us for about a year, immediately took him under his wing. He cared for and nurtured his new young friend and they developed a very strong bond. They spend their days together--playing, napping and delighting in the life of being a cat. Donatello has grown into an extremely friendly, social and good-natured 9 month old, and now he finds his role with James has changed. You see, James came to us with a corneal eye injury, fearful of human touch. But with the help of his best friend who is helping to socialize him by encouraging him to enjoy human affection, and our volunteers pursuing and spending time with him, James is learning that humans can be great companions too. He's come so far, and has even started to like and look forward to attention and affection himself.

 

James and Donatello are available for adoption as a pair. We do not have the heart to separate them--they need each other--and believe James will thrive in the right home with the right family, as long as Donatello is by his side. They just need a Forever Family who will be patient and not give up on James.
